· 1 min read
Porto Seco Sul de Minas, the dry port in Varginha, is investing R$ 70 million to expand its coffee export capacity, according to O Tempo (September 14, 2026).
- 18,000 m² of new buildings, 6,000 m² of them for coffee machinery;
- R$ 25 million in blending equipment (each silo handles 40,000 bags at a time);
- A target of 100 coffee containers per day;
- Storage capacity rising from 2 to 4 million bags.
Phytosanitary certificates (issued by Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture) can now also be obtained on site at the dry port, at about R$ 1,000 per container versus R$ 1,700–2,000 in Santos, according to the company.
Why it matters
More capacity in Varginha means more coffee prepared, inspected and cleared inland, close to the farms, with less time and cost at the seaport. WW Trading is based in Varginha, next to the dry port, and clears cargo there or at any port or dry port in Brazil.
