September 2026 was a strong month for Brazilian trade, according to partial data from the Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade (MDIC) through the fourth week of the month:
- Exports of US$ 30.49 billion, up 22.2% year on year;
- Imports of US$ 24.04 billion (+7.4%);
- A US$ 6.45 billion surplus, 151% higher than a year earlier;
- In agribusiness, soy (+21.1%), pulp (+44%) and green coffee (+20.6%) stood out.
Year to date (through the fourth week of September), exports total US$ 281.3 billion (+11.5%).
More coffee is on the way: Conab forecasts the 2026 crop at 67.6 million bags, the largest on record, up 19.6% on 2025. Minas Gerais accounts for almost 35 million bags of arabica, 15.9 million of them in the South and Central-West of Minas, the Varginha region.
Why it matters
More volume calls for shipment planning, documents in order and clearance without delays. WW Trading handles exports and imports, clearing cargo at the Varginha dry port or at any port in Brazil.
